We register domains as a reseller of eNom, LLC (a Tucows company), an ICANN-accredited registrar. When you register a domain through us, you agree to our Terms of Service, to the registrar’s registration agreement, and to the policies of ICANN and of the registry for that extension.
The domain is in your name
The domain is registered to you as the registrant, and your contact details must be accurate and up to date. You may be asked to confirm your email after registration or after changing your details; failing to confirm within 15 days may lead to the domain being suspended until you do.
Your rights and responsibilities
ICANN publishes the Registrants’ Benefits and Responsibilities, and educational information on its page for registrants. Key rights include knowing registration and renewal prices in advance, receiving reminders before expiry, and transferring the domain to another registrar.
Prices
Registration and renewal prices for each extension are published on the domains page and in the client area. A .com currently costs JOD 12.99 / $17.99 per year, and a free .com for the first year comes with every annual hosting plan, then renews at the normal price.
Renewal, expiry and redemption
- Auto-renew is on by default. We send the renewal invoice 30 days before expiry, reminders about one month and one week before expiry, and a reminder within 5 days after expiry.
- After expiry, the website and email using the domain stop working. A .com has a grace period of about 30 days during which it can be renewed at the normal price.
- After the grace period the domain enters a “redemption period” of about 30 days, during which it can only be recovered for a redemption fee of $120.99 on top of the renewal price.
- After the redemption period the domain is deleted within about 5 days and becomes available for anyone to register.
- Periods and fees can differ between extensions and are shown in the client area.
Transfers
- You can transfer your domain to another registrar at any time. You can get the transfer (EPP) code from the client area, or we send it on request within 5 days at most.
- Transfers may be locked for a period after registration, transfer or a change of registrant, as ICANN’s Transfer Policy allows.
Privacy and WHOIS data
Registrant data is sent to the registrar and registry under ICANN rules, and most of it is redacted from public WHOIS lookups. It may be disclosed to parties with a legitimate interest or under a legal order.
Disputes
Domain disputes are subject to ICANN’s Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP). Country-code extensions such as .jo follow the rules of their own registry.
