1. Information We Do NOT Collect
CSS Tracker operates primarily within your browser. To ensure your complete privacy:
- No Browsing History: We do not track, collect, or store the URLs or websites you visit.
- No Website Content: The extension analyzes CSS, colors, and fonts locally on your machine. We do not transmit the content of the pages you inspect to our servers.
- No Personal Tracking: We do not collect your name, email address, physical address, financial information, or keystrokes through the extension itself.
2. Information We DO Collect
To provide our core service and manage your subscription, we collect the following minimal data:
- Authentication Token (License Key): When you log in, the extension stores a secure token locally to authenticate your account with our servers.
- Device ID: A randomly generated, anonymous Device UUID is created to manage your concurrent sessions and enforce device limits based on your subscription plan.
- Usage Statistics: We record basic usage metrics on our servers (such as the number of “scans,” “API calls,” or “exports” performed) strictly to enforce the monthly limits associated with your specific subscription plan.
3. How We Use Your Information
The strictly necessary data we collect is used solely for:
- Validating your active subscription and license limits.
- Preventing unauthorized use or piracy of the extension.
- Providing you with transparency on your monthly usage limits (via the Usage tab in your extension settings).
4. Data Security
We prioritize the security of your authentication data. All communication between the Chrome Extension and our servers (sis.startbigger.com) is encrypted and transmitted securely via standard HTTPS protocols. Your token and device ID are stored locally on your device using Chrome’s secure chrome.storage.local API.
5. Third-Party Sharing
We are fully compliant with Google Chrome Web Store Developer Program Policies.
- We do not sell, rent, or transfer your user data or usage metrics to any third parties.
- We do not use your data for advertising, creditworthiness determination, or lending purposes.
6. Permissions Required
To function correctly, the extension asks for specific browser permissions:
activeTab: To analyze the CSS of the specific page you are currently viewing only when you explicitly interact with the extension.<all_urls>(Host Permission): Because developers inspect various websites, this permission allows the extension to function on any publicly accessible domain you choose to inspect.scripting: Required to inject our local CSS extraction script into the tab you are analyzing.storage: Required to securely store your authentication token and UI preferences (like Dark Mode) locally.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Effective Date” at the top.
